GROWING TOGETHER
WHAT TO EXPECT
Group size will consist of 10-12 AZYP’s.
You are responsible for purchasing the cohort textbook (TBA).
Eight weeks with four 90 min. Leadership Cohort Zoom calls.
Zoom calls occur every other week (Tuesday or Saturday).
Join a discussion board with other youth pastors in a private Discord group, answering relevant questions through the assigned reading.
Engage in further dialogue and discussion in our Zoom calls every other week.
At the end of eight weeks, we will evaluate the Youth Pastors’ growth with an individual meeting, and the Youth Pastor will be asked to take on three people in their sphere of influence to coach in turn.
PHILOSOPHY
Identifying the main goals the coachee is hoping to achieve and unlock the underlying potential that is within the coachee’s leadership capacity that has yet to be released.
Coaching is the tool that gets you from where you are to where you want to be. Like a stage coach or transport. The person being transported calls the shots.
It is a relational partnership a coming alongside to bring out untapped potential, to encourage God-sized goals, and deepen personal learning.
OUTCOMES
Identification of key motivational behaviors, clarity of ministry calling, and foster spiritual maturity and productivity for the purpose of ministry effectiveness.
A clear understanding of what it means to be a healthy disciple-maker in every area of life, not limited to youth ministry specifically.
Long term effectiveness for youth pastor, based on increased capacity to achieve results through building and maintaining healthy relationships.
METHOD
Read the cohort textbook (TBA) in order of the reading plan provided. Answer the assigned discussion questions each week, reply to another member’s post, and come prepared to each session ready to expound on the assigned reading.
The goal isn’t as much to get through the book as it is to experience transformational growth in our time together. This will involve support, encouragement, validation, and truth-telling.
Each consecutive meeting will begin with a brief follow-up and review from the previous meeting to evaluate what was accomplished.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Confidentiality is essential to building the trust needed for an effective working relationship between the cohort leader and the youth pastors. The youth pastor has sole discretion to share or not share feedback assessments, the content of cohort conversations and any other information from the pastoral care segments.
